Saint Lorenz Assisted Living is seeking a qualified, experienced, facility manager to assist with daily operations at our Redding location.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous Residential Care Facility for the Elderly, Assisted Living Home, or equivalent work experience
- Management experience
- Caregiving experience
- CPR, First Aid certifications
- Ability to work weekends
- Licensed Medical Professional (Registered Nurse RN, Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN, or similar - active and in good standing license is required)

Description of Position:
Provides direct supervision of staff. Works with the community, ensuring that the facility is a positive choice for seniors in the area. Coordinates all staff to promote outstanding facility operations in alignment with goals, budget guidelines and resident needs. Assumes responsibilities of the administrator in his or her absence, following facility guidelines. Supervises operations to conform to regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications for the Position:
The Facility Manager will be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and have a criminal clearance prior to presence in the facility. The Facility Manager will also have passed a physical and have a chest x-ray (or an intra-dermal test) performed by a physician within the prior six months of employment. The physicians report shall indicate whether the person is physically qualified to perform the duties to be assigned, and whether he/she has any health condition that would create a hazard to him/herself, other staff members or residents. Personnel with evidence of physical illness or emotional instability that poses a significant threat to the well-being of residents will be relieved of their duties.
In order to carry out the responsibilities of this position the individual is required to have training or will go through training of care giving, preferably in the geriatric realm. Basic First Aid and CPR certification is required. Physical ability to perform the duties, including the ability to assist with mobility and resident transfers is essential. Good mental health is required. The individual must be able to communicate effectively with the residents, family members and health professionals. Additionally, the individual must possess the capability to read, understand and carry out care plans and physician orders.
The Facility Manager will have a criminal record clearance prior to presence in the facility. The Facility Manager will have TB test results within 7 days of employment and the health screening completed within 30 days of employment.
The Facility Manager will have knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to each resident of the facility; familiarity with the facility's planned emergency procedures; and training to effectively interact with emergency personnel in the event of an emergency call, including an ability to provide a resident's medical records to emergency responders.
Responsibilities of the Facility Manager:
Supervise all staff to ensure facility is operating according to standards and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Implement budget and approve or deny expenditures based on the allocations set by the Administrator.
Coordinate, schedule and conduct monthly resident review meetings to identify, monitor and intervene for residents at risk for higher placement,
Serve and follow through with all evictions.
Work within the community to place residents in need of greater acuity.
Market the facility to prospective placements. Schedule and plan all community outreach projects.
Coordinate move-ins.
Assume full responsibility for all regulatory guidelines, forms, and documentation for residents and employees and ensure that administrative operation is up to date and complete at all times. Secure all admission paperwork prior to move-in.
Organize resident and family council meetings as well as family conferences.
Prepare all licensing requests for exceptions, waivers and exemptions for Administrators review.
Initial screening for all new job applicants. Verify qualifications.
Criminal clearances and coordination of pre-employment documentation.
Coordinate employee performance reviews.
Investigate complaints, document and review with administrator.
Terminate unsatisfactory staff with approval from administrator.
Perform all necessary duties that the Administrator or Caregivers are not able to complete or need help completing. These duties include but are not limited to, the total care of the residents and the facility. These items include direct care for the residents with such things as, assisting residents with bathing, dressing, medications, preparing meals, leading activities, laundry, cleaning the facility, etc.
